I was blessed to have been raised in a Christian family where the Christian life was constantly being lived out. Sunday school and church each week had a huge influence on me, so at age 5 I accepted Jesus as my Savior. I attended a private Christian school so was pretty sheltered; as a result I had a short time in my life when I wanted to live for me instead of being fully devoted to Christ. At 28 my sister-in-law challenged me to really dig into God’s word and made me search for answers to my question, and through that searching, attending many years of Bible Study Fellowship, and being involved in a bible teaching church, I grew in my walk with Jesus and am devoted to living for Him. My journey has been one that has tested my faith; losing my only brother to cancer at age 40, moving many times, watching my mom and my sister go through breast cancer, losing my dad to cancer, and walking with a daughter through the darkness of depression and a suicide attempt. Through all of this, God has shown His great faithfulness, that He is in control, and that His grace is sufficient for each day. Though there is often pain in life, He provides new mercies and joy every day.You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. Psalm 16:11

// theWELL MissionstheWELL is a community of college students who are missionally driven by the truth of the gospel to go into all the nations and make disciples. This desire is reflected in a variety of ways and in many contexts. There are both local and international opportunites to engage in mission with Jesus, but it's our heart that everyone at theWELL would sense the calling from God to be salt and light to whatever community they find themselves in. The local branch of our missional engagement is called inMOTION. inMOTION is a group of students that want to put their faith into action. They get together and do service projects, evangelism, and other things around North County that are geared toward showing the love of Jesus to our community. We take seriously the when Jesus taught that His followers were to be salt and light to their community - and this is our attempt at living that out. One of the things we do each month is go down to the Escondido Transit Center and hand out a free breakfast (every other Friday). It's just a fun and practical way to get into great conversations with people. Contact Treva for more information. In addition we serve lunch to the homeless in Grape Day park every other Friday. We have had the opportunity to pray for many people and express the love of Christ to them in very practical ways. Contact Cindy for more information. We also take an international mission trip every summer. This summer we are going to Melbourne, Australia to do college ministry. this trip is already full, but please visit the Australia Missions page for ways that you can pray for and support the team. In addition to the mission trips that we take, we are also passionate about training people for a life of mission! There are a few ministries that we partner with to help train our future missionaries. Perspectives: is a college/seminary level missions class. It is taught by experts in the field and has been life changing for many people who have gone on to serve in missions. If you want to gain a greater understanding of what it means to be a great commission Christian, then this class is for you! Here is the link to the course that is being offered at EFCC starting Jan 24, 2012. Interface: Interface is a training and hand's on missions experience with New Tribes Mission. We would love to send a group of students to Interface to learn about God's heart for missions and to have the chance to reach out to unreached people groups in Papua New Guinea. Contact Ryan if you are interested in getting more information. You can also visit their website which has tons of info on it.Urbana: Urbana is a missions conference that is designed for college students. it happens once every three years. theWELL will be taking a group next time it comes around.

EFCC Statement of FaithSection 1: The BibleWe believe the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, to be the inspired Word of God. God so superintended the human authors that while retaining their own individual personalities and writing styles they chose the very words that God intended. Their original writings were free from error. The Bible is the believer's only infallible rule for faith and practice (Psalms 19:7-9; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).Section 2: The GodheadWe believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are identical in essence and equal in power and glory; they possess the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and are worthy of the same worship, confidence, and obedience (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 12:29; John 1:1-4; Acts 5:3-4; 2 Corinthians 13:14).Section 3: The Person and Work of ChristWe believe that Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He came to reveal God to mankind and to redeem our sinful race by giving Himself as a sinless substitutionary sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, satisfying God's righteous judgments against sin. He then arose bodily from the dead and ascended to the Father's right hand where He intercedes on the believer's behalf. All the Scriptures, from first to last, testify of Him (Luke 1:34-35; 24:27; John 1:1-2, 14, 18; Romans 3:24-26; 8:34).Section 4: The Person and Work of the Holy SpiritWe believe that the Holy Spirit is the Divine Person who convicts the world of sin, gives eternal life to those who place their trust in Christ, unites all believers to Christ in one body by His baptizing ministry, indwells them permanently, seals them unto the day of redemption, fills (controls) those who are yielding to Him, and empowers them for service. He seeks to direct their attention not to themselves nor to their experience, but to Christ (John 3:5-8; 14:16-17; 16:7-11; 16:13-14; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 4:30; 5:18).Section 5: The Condition of ManWe believe that man was originally created in the image and after the likeness of God, free from sin. He subsequently fell into sin by a voluntary act of personal disobedience to the revealed will of God, lost his spiritual life, and became dead in sins and corrupt in nature. These effects of sin have been transmitted to the entire human race, Jesus Christ excepted, and thus every person born into the world is alienated from the life of God and incapable of remedying his lost and depraved condition apart from divine grace (Genesis 1:26; 3:1-24; 6:5; Psalms 51:5; Jeremiah 17:9; Romans 3:10-18; 5:12; Ephesians 2:1-3).Section 6: The Means of SalvationWe believe that salvation from the guilt and condemnation of sin is possible only as the gift of God's grace. It cannot be gained by good resolutions, sincere efforts, nor submission to the rules, regulations, or ordinances of any church, but is freely bestowed on all who put their faith in Christ and trust in the work which Christ accomplished on the cross of Calvary. All who so trust the Savior pass from death unto life, are forgiven of their sins, accepted by the Father, and born into His family by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God (John 5:24; Ephesians 1:6-7; 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:23).Section 7: The Believer's Assurance and ResponsibilityWe believe that all who have been born again by God's transforming grace are secure in Christ forever. It is their privilege to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation, not on the basis of their own worthiness, but on the basis of God's faithfulness and the testimony of His Word. However, this assurance must not become an occasion for sin. The reality of their faith in Christ is demonstrated by subjecting their fleshly natures to the power of the Holy Spirit and by doing the good works for which He saved them, especially by demonstrating a Christlike love for one another (Matthew 7:20; John 10:27-29; 13:34-35; Romans 6:13; 8:28-39; Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 2:10; 1 John 3:14,23; 5:13).Section 8: The ChurchWe believe that all who have placed their faith in Christ are united by the Holy Spirit into one spiritual body, the Church, of which Christ is the Head. This body was formed on the day of Pentecost and will be completed at the coming of Christ for His own. The members of this one spiritual body are directed to associate themselves together in local assemblies for instruction, worship, prayer, fellowship, service, and the administration of the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper. They are likewise to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; 12:13; Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:3).Section 9: The Gifts of the SpiritWe believe that enabling gifts for service are bestowed according to God's own will upon all believers by the Spirit of God to be exercised for the edification of the Church and for the glory of the Lord. These gifts are sovereignly bestowed by God in order to fulfill specific purposes in His program. We believe that, as a sign to unbelievers, the Biblical gift of speaking in tongues was speaking in existing languages which the speaker had never learned and that it was never the common nor necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Spirit. We further believe that while God may choose to heal supernaturally, the healing of the temporal body is not assured by Christ's atoning work on the cross; the complete deliverance of the body from sickness awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection (Romans 8:23; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 27-31; 13:8-10; 14:21-22; 2 Corinthians 12:7-9; Ephesians 4:7-13; Hebrews 2:3-4; 1 Peter 4:10-11; 2 Timothy 4:20).Section 10: The Second Coming of ChristWe believe that the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy is the personal return of Christ to remove from the earth His Church, both dead and living believers, and to reward each individual believer according to his works. After the removal of the Church the righteous judgments of God will be poured out on the unbelieving world, climaxed by the glorious return of Jesus Christ to the earth with His saints to establish His millennial kingdom (2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 3:10; 19:11-16; 20:1-6).Section 11: The Eternal StateWe believe that at death the souls of believers pass immediately into the presence of Jesus Christ. When Christ returns for the Church they will be reunited with their glorified bodies and associated with Him forever in glory. At death the souls of unbelievers pass immediately into torment. At the close of the millennium they will be reunited with their bodies, judged before the great white throne, then cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to be separated from God forever in conscious punishment (Luke 16:19-26; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians 1:23; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Revelation 20:11-15).

SIGNS OF LIFEDo you ever feel like the significance of the Christmas season might be lost under the weight of gingerbread lattes, Christmas carols that have been playing in stores since October, eggnog, decorated houses, and presents under the tree? The Bible spends a lot of time talking about the birth of Christ; and we have so much to celebrate during this season. We celebrate the fact that God became man in order to pursue humanity; what an amazing truth. We celebrate the reality that a savior has been born and redemption can be found in Him. However, many times the season is hijacked by commercialism and it passes us by without us taking time to think on the greatness of what God has done on our behalf. During this Christmas season, we are going to pause and reflect on one of the blessings that we receive in Jesus. In John 1:4, John writes about the birth of Christ and says, “In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind.” The birth of Jesus brings us LIFE! It brings life in a way that humanity had never experienced it before, and by which we would be forever changed. The ironic part about the ‘life’ that Jesus brings is that it rarely shows up in the way we expect. It’s something that may pass you by if you don’t have eyes to see it. So this Christmas season we are going to explore: SIGNS OF LIFE. We hope you can join us and that you might be encouraged about the way that Jesus is breathing life into your soul.

I grew up in a rural area Northeast of Bakersfield in the mountains. Started working with my father at age two and grew up doing every kind of manual labor. Went to UCSB and earned a degree in Business/Economics. When I was in college I was involved in Campus Crusade ministry and also worked for Hume Lake Christian Camps. I have been the waterfront supervisor and offsite activities coordinator for the past three years. In my free time I enjoy most outdoor activities, as well as board games, coffee, photography, music, and art. This spring I will be attending Liberty University in an attempt to earn a Masters in intercultural studies, with aspirations to do college ministry full-time in the future in a Res life capacity.Connect with me: Facebook // Twitter

I was adopted into a family with parents that love Jesus. As a result, I had heard the Gospel message numerous times as a kid, but the beauty of God's love and grace didn't begin to take root in me until shortly after my high school years. It was around this time that I began to develop my lifelong passion for music. I have always been musically inclined, but in my younger years I lacked the discipline to learn an instrument. At 21, I experienced my first breakup. Looking for an outlet to release all my caged up "emo-ness", I sat down and taught myself to play the guitar (Surprisingly, It took more than one sitting). It was around this time that Jesus instilled in me a passion for worship music. Since coming on staff at theWELL in the Summer of '08, it's been my desire to help develop a culture of genuine worship and surrender to Jesus. I'm grateful and excited to see where the Lord will lead me in the coming season. P.S Two of my favorite things are one-on-one conversations and coffee. Drop me a line on Facebook or come talk to me after theWELL. I'd love to get to know YOU! Connect with me: Facebook // Twitter

I grew up right here in San Diego and had the privilege of being in a family that taught me the gospel at a young age. Throughout my years in public school I was committed to my churches youth group where I grew spiritually under the leadership of godly men and women. After high school I attended Palomar college for two years while working at the church I grew up at. During that time I sensed that God was calling me to serve Him in vocational ministry. After Palomar I attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago Illinois where I majored in Bible and Women's Ministries. My particular areas of interest are depression, body image, and culture and how to view these things through a Christian lens. It is my desire to see God's precious daughters grow in the knowledge of Him and to grasp how deeply He loves them. Connect with me: Facebook

Connect with me: Facebook // Twitter // BlogI grew up in Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University. After college I became a high school pastor and started the long arduous journey of seminary. I graduated from Bethel Seminary with my MDIV in June of 2010. I'm married to an amazing woman named Kelly and we have two awesome kids; Ethan and Avery. I love all sports (except soccer!), running, reading, drinking good coffee, and spending time with my family. I'm passionate about seeing college students know and love Jesus and live the abundant life that is found only in Him and through His gospel. My theme verse is John 10:10 which reads, "The theif comes only to steal kill and destroy, but I (Jesus) have come that you may have life and have it to the full."
